What is Sugar Cane Mulch?
- Sugar Cane Mulch is the leaf of the Sugar Cane plant which is left after he plant has been harvested. This bi-product is then collected using a baling machine, to enable it to be processed through grinders and compressed into the Rocky Point Mulching bags.
How thick should the mulch be applied?
- 50 - 70mm (2 to 3 inches) thick.

Should I take any safety precautions when spreading mulch?
- Mulch products may contain micro-organisms and bacteria. You should avoid breathing the dust or mist by wearing a particulate mask. Wear gloves when applying the mulch and wash your hands immediately after use.

- Yes, as an organic product, our mulch is suitable for use on all types of plants.
How long does Sugar Cane Mulch last on the garden?
- If you apply a generous covering of mulch at 70mm - 100mm thick, Sugar Cane Mulch will last up to 12 months before it needs to be refreshed. When applying Sugar Cane Mulch, ensure the mulch is not touching the base of the plant.
How many litres are in a compressed bag of Sugar Cane Mulch?
- A bag of Sugar Cane Mulch which covers 7sq metres contains 66 compressed litres of mulch.
Will I get weeds?
- No. This is the advantage of using Sugar Cane Mulch. It is a very clean mulch that does not contain seeds. A mature Sugar Cane plant does not give undergrowth weeds the opportunity to grow, therefore it is rare to have any weeds in the mulch. Weeds will only grow if you do not apply the recommended thickness of mulch to your garden.
